Appointments

Booking an Appointment

Urgent appointments can be made by telephone at 08:00 for the same day; you can also book in person at the surgery at 08:00. Please please note there are only a few same day appointments available.

Routine appointments can be booked at any time by telephone or at the desk; you can now also book online via the link above (please avoid 08:00 to 10:00 if possible).

Please ask at reception for full details about how to do this.

Telephone Consultations

Doctors and nurses are available for telephone consultations or advice during normal opening hours except when they are seeing patients in the clinics.

Please leave your name, telephone number and a brief reason with the reception staff and an appropriate clinician will return you call, usually on the same day.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor.

Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Languages Spoken

English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kiswahili and other regional languages of the sub-continent of India.

For any other languages a translator can be organised if we are given at least 4-5 days’ notice; a telephone interpretation service is also available.

Hospital Appointments

Should the doctor think that you need to go to hospital he/she will discuss this with you and explain why.

The doctor will request an appointment using the Gateway/ICH service.

If you are required to telephone or contact the hospital to complete your referral you will receive a letter from them (Integrated Care Gateway) telling you to do so.

Please note that patients CAN NOW contact the extended access service on this number: 0161 470 7025 to leave a cancellation message

You will be asked for your name, DOB, the time/ Date/ Location of your appointment and this will come through to our team as a recorded message.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 11:00 if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit; there are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the health centre.
